Hands on educational farm tours for schools and groups - Utica, Kentucky!

Groups: Educational Tours & Field Trips

We're planting seeds of knowledge on the farm at Trunnell's Farm Market (located near Greenville, KY and Owensboro, KY). Agriculture is part of everyday living, although many students aren't aware of where and how our food gets to their table. We are a working farm producing crops such as corn, wheat, hay, and soybeans - as well as vegetables and pumpkins.

Our hands-on activities will show children about the lifecycle of crops. Students will leave with an understanding of how important agriculture is! Bring your class, preschool, scout troop, or youth group to Trunnell's and let them see for themselves how agriculture is a fun, interesting, and a vital part of life! They will never forget this absolutely "FRESH" experience.

What's Included in your Field Trip

The tour includes a learning program and hayride, plus time for children to explore other farm fun activities in the Fun-Acre and Picnic Area. We will provide you with the perfect spring or fall field trip, combining equal parts of an educational experience and homegrown fun. Your students will play, learn and grow with our exciting Educational Tours!

Our farm tours vary with the season. We offer a Spring Planting Tour and a Fall Harvest Tour:

Fall Harvesting Tour (Septeber 27th - October 31st)

This Fall, Trunnell's Farm Tours will be leaping into the exciting adventure of Harvesting on the farm. From the pumpkin patch and gourds to our comprehensive learning plans, we will educate and entertain your class or group as we discover the life cycle of pumpkins and pollination by the honey bee as well as what goes on day to day at our real working farm. Give your students or group the chance to EXPERIENCE THE HARVEST at Trunnell's Farm Market.

Fees

Cost: $6/student
Parents/Chaperones/Teachers: Admittance at no charge (does not include a free pumpkin during Fall Tour)

Please Note: We offer something for every age, so the price is the same for all ages. Confirmed reservations are required for all tours.

Reservations

Reservations are a must for Educational Tours! Spring and Fall Tours are available Monday through Friday. We fill up rapidly, so make your appointment time well ahead of the day you wish. You may contact us at (270) 733-2222 or email us. (When emailing, please include school name, teacher contact, phone number, best time to call, date and time requesting.

Please Note: Tours less with less than 15 attendees will be combined with other groups.

Cancellations

Out of respect for other tour groups, and to maintain booking flexibility, cancellations need to be made within two weeks of the visit. If cancellations are not made within this time frame they are severely damaging in that another class is deprived of a trip. Therefore, cancellation less than 2 weeks in advance or "no-shows" will result in a charge of $75.00.

Cancellations need to be person to person--messages left on voice mail are NOT acceptable. In case of rain, Trunnell's will make any cancellation decisions the morning of the trip. Please call that morning if you have any questions. If cancellation is due to weather, the above fee will be waived for all cancellations, and Trunnell's will be happy to assist in rescheduling your tour.

We look forward to providing you and your students with an absolutely "fresh" educational experience filled with homegrown fun. We hope you enjoy your Trunnell's Farm Market field trip!
