School Tours: Educational Tours / Field TripsWe're planting seeds of knowledge on the farm at Trunnell's Farm Market (located near Greenville, KY, Owensboro, KY, Henderson, KY, Newburg, IN, Evansville, IN). Agriculture is part of everyday living, although many students aren't aware of where and how our food gets to their table. We are a working farm producing crops such as corn, wheat, hay, and soybeans - as well as vegetables and pumpkins. Our hands-on activities will show children about the lifecycle of crops. Students will leave with an understanding of how important agriculture is! Bring your class, preschool, scout troop, or youth group to Trunnell's and let them see for themselves how agriculture is a fun, interesting, and a vital part of life! They will never forget this absolutely "FRESH" experience. Educational Tour OptionsYour students will play, learn, and grow with our exciting Educational Tours! Each tour provides you with the perfect field trip, combining equal parts of an educational experience and farm-tastic fun. All tours can be booked as a stand-alone tour or combined with one other tour for a special rate! Mining Sluice Adventure ToursStudents will make their way to the water sluice, a wooden water tower in which water runs through a series of troughs. Students will take their bag of mining "rough" and pour it into a sluice box. Each student will sift and shake their box and the water will wash the dirt away slowly revealing their found treasure. After each student discovers their gems or fossils, they will be given an identification card to identify exactly what they found. As soon as the students step off the bus, they will begin an agri-cation experience at Trunnell's without even realizing that the farm is a "lesson."
